Highly Beneficial (Healing) Foods – Type O

This list has been compiled from New York Times Best Selling Author Dr. Peter J. D’ Adamo’s book Eat Right For Your Type.

Acid Fruits (There are no highly beneficial foods for these categories, so the listed foods here are NEUTRAL): Tomato, Cranberries, Grapefruit, Kiwi, Kumquat, Lemons, Pineapples, Pomegranates  

Sub-Acid Fruits:  Dark, Green and Red Plums  

Sweet Fruits:  Dried and Fresh Figs, Prunes  

Melons (There are no highly beneficial foods for this category, so the listed foods here are NEUTRAL):  Canang, Casaba, Crenshaw, Christmas, Musk, Spanish and Watermelon

Carbs/Starches: Essene Bread, Ezeikel Bread, Jerusalem Artichokes, Parsnips, Sweet Potatoes

Protein Fat: Pumpkin Seeds, Walnuts

Fats/Oils: Linseed (flaxseed) Oil, Olive Oil

Protein Starch: Aduke Beans, Azuki Beans, Pinto Beans, Black-eyed Peas

Protein Flesh:  Beef, Ground Beef, Buffalo, Heart, Lamb, Liver, Mutton, Veal, Venison, Bluefish, Cod, Hake, Halibut, Herring, Mackerel, Pike, Rainbow Trout, Red Snapper, Salmon, Sardine, Shad, Snapper, Sole, Striped Bass, Sturgeon, Swordfish, Tilefish, White Perch, Whitefish, Yellow Perch, Yellowtail

Non-Starchy Veggies: Beet Leaves, Broccoli, Chickory, Collard Greens, Dandelion, Escarole, Garlic, Horseradish, Kale, Kohlrabi, Leek, Romaine Lettuce, Okra, Red Onions, Spanish Onions, Yellow Onions, Parsley, Red Peppers, Seaweed, Spinach, Swiss Chard

Condiments (there are no highly beneficial foods for this category, so the listed foods here are NEUTRAL): Apple Butter, Jam and Jelly (from acceptable fruits), Mayonnaise, Mustard, Salad Dressing (low fat from acceptable ingredients), Worcestershire Sauce

Spices: Carob, Curry, Dulse, Kelp, Parsley, Cayenne Pepper, Turmeric

Herbal Teas: Cayenne, Chickweed, Dandelion, Fenugreek, Ginger, Hops, Linden, Mulberry, Parsley, Peppermint, Rose Hips, Sarsaparilla, Slippery Elm

Misc. Beverages:  Club Soda, Seltzer Water
